Accountant

Role & responsibilities

• Maintain books of accounts for clients: bookkeeping, ledger scrutiny and month-end closing in Tally
• Finalise accounts and prepare financial statements for individuals, firms and companies
• Handle GST compliance end-to-end: monthly/quarterly returns, reconciliations (GSTR-2B vs books), annual returns and refund applications
• Prepare and file Income Tax returns, along with TDS returns and related compliances
• Draft replies to notices, scrutiny assessments and show cause notices under Income Tax and GST
• Work on litigation matters, including appeals before CIT(A) and GST appellate authorities, under senior guidance
• Represent clients and accompany partners for hearings and meetings with Income Tax and GST officers
• Assist in tax audits, statutory audits and other assurance assignments
• Coordinate with clients for documents and ensure timely compliance

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum qualification: B.Com (M.Com, CA Inter, or those pursuing CA/CMA are welcome)
• Relevant work experience in accounting/taxation is required; freshers will not be considered
• Preference for candidates with experience in a CA office
• Working knowledge of accounting, GST, Income Tax and TDS; hands-on with Tally and government portals
• Good drafting skills and a keen interest in litigation and representation work
