Job Title: Quality Control Officer – Lubricants Packaging (Automotive Experience Preferred) Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control Location: Bangalore Reports To: QC Manager / Plant Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Officer to join our lubricants packaging facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, with previous experience in the automotive industry . This role focuses on maintaining high standards in the packaging of automotive lubricants by ensuring all products meet internal specifications and industry requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct quality inspections and testing of incoming raw materials (base oils, additives, packaging components). Perform in-process quality checks during blending, filling, labeling, and packaging stages. Test finished lubricants for key automotive parameters such as viscosity, flash point, pour point, and appearance. Ensure packaging integrity (seal checks, label accuracy, cap torque, batch coding). Interpret test results and initiate corrective action for non-conforming products or processes. Document and maintain detailed inspection reports and QC records. Assist in investigations of customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with the production team to ensure continuous improvement in quality and process efficiency. Participate in internal audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), and company quality systems. Train packaging operators on automotive lubricant quality standards and best practices. Maintain and calibrate lab equipment regularly as per SOPs. Required Qualifications and Experience: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or related field. 2–5 years of quality control experience , preferably in the automotive industry or lubricant manufacturing/packaging . Familiarity with automotive lubricant standards (API, SAE, OEM specs) is a strong advantage. Knowledge of laboratory instruments and quality testing procedures for lubricants. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to interpret technical data and production specifications. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with QC software or ERP systems is a plus. Working Conditions: Plant-based role requiring regular presence in the production and packaging areas. May involve occasional extended hours, shift work, or weekend duties depending on production demands.
