Job Title: Logistics Coordinator – Export & Import Department: International Logistics / Supply Chain Reports To: Logistics or Operations Manager Location: [Ahmedabad Gujarat India] Employment Type: [Full-Time] Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator – Export & Import is responsible for managing international shipments, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and coordinating logistics processes from origin to destination. This role plays a key part in facilitating global trade operations, managing documentation, and liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods across borders. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate end-to-end logistics for international shipments, including both export and import activities. Prepare, review, and manage all necessary export and import documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, customs declarations). Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, Incoterms, and company policies. Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and shipping lines to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve any transit issues. Monitor shipping schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods. Handle HS codes classification, duties/taxes, and other customs-related requirements. Maintain up-to-date records of shipments, costs, and logistics performance. Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments (sales, procurement, warehousing) regarding shipment status and requirements. Support the negotiation of freight rates and contracts with logistics service providers. Assist with audits, insurance claims, and compliance reporting as required. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred). Experience: 1-3 years of experience in international logistics, preferably in an export/import company or freight forwarding firm. Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of export/import procedures and documentation. Familiarity with Incoterms, international shipping terms, and customs compliance. Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Proficient in logistics and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized freight platforms). Excellent organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. Problem-solving ability in a time-sensitive, global trade environment. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in International Trade, Logistics, or Supply Chain (e.g., FIATA, CILT, IATA, or similar). Experience with sea freight, air freight, and cross-border land transport. Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and export incentives (e.g., duty drawback schemes). Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with coordination across time zones. May require extended hours during shipment deadlines or peak periods. Occasional visits to ports, warehouses, or freight agents.
