Job Description: Role Overview You'll join our core product team to help build, test, and iterate real dronesend-to-end. Expect hands-on work across hardware, electronics, firmware bring-up, and flight testing. You'll follow established SOPs, contribute to safe lab practices, and document everything you do, so the team can move faster and smarter. Key Responsibilities Assembly & Integration: Assist with frame assembly, wiring harnesses, connector crimping, flight controller/ESC/sensor integration, and bench setup. Firmware & Tools: Support firmware flashing, basic configuration, and sanity checks using serial tools, Mission Planner, and standard lab instruments. Testing & Validation: Help run bench tests (props off), handle batteries per safety norms, perform pre-flight checks and supervised field tests; log results meticulously. Debug & Documentation: Perform methodical troubleshooting (one change at a time); maintain clear written notes, photos, wiring diagrams, and issue logs. Process Discipline: Follow checklists/SOPs, adhere to ESD and PPE practices, and maintain a tidy, labeled workbench with proper inventory of consumables. Collaboration: Work with electronics, firmware, and flight-test teams; surface risks early, ask for help when blocked, and contribute to continuous improvement. Required Skillset Electronics: Ohm's law; power budgeting; LiPo safety (C-rate, balancing, storage); ESD safety. * Hands-on: Clean solder joints (T/H + basic SMD); crimping (JST-GH/PH, DF13); heat-shrink; harness building; connector keying/strain relief. * Debugging tools: Multimeter; continuity checks; basic oscilloscope/logic analyzer usage. * Firmware bring-up: Flashing via ST-Link/DFU/UART; serial tools; reading datasheets and pinouts. * Version control & hygiene: Git basics; branching; clear commits (optional). * Follow checklists/SOPs. * Ground control & protocols: Basic ArduPilot workflow; Mission Planner; RC modes; failsafes; UART/I2C/SPI, PWM, DShot; MAVLink basics. * Workshop safety: Props off for bench tests; PPE; battery handling; lockout/tagout mindset.
