We are expanding our execution team and looking for a Site Engineer (Electrical) who can manage rooftop solar installations from survey to commissioning with confidence and technical expertise. Role Description The Site Engineer (Electrical) – Rooftop Solar Installation will be responsible for end-to-end on-site execution of rooftop solar projects ranging from 5 kW to 200 kW . This role requires hands-on experience in electrical installation, inverter configuration, battery connections, and coordination with contractors and clients. You will work closely with project managers, design engineers, and site teams to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality execution of both On-Grid and Off-Grid solar systems . The role involves frequent site travel, technical audits, supervision of installation activities, and support during commissioning and handover. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy field work, problem-solving, and contributing directly to clean energy projects. Key Responsibilities Site Survey & Planning Conduct detailed site surveys to assess roof condition, shadow analysis, load requirements, and system feasibility. Audit existing electrical infrastructure and suggest required modifications. Coordinate with design teams to validate layouts, SLDs, and system sizing. Installation & Execution Supervise rooftop solar panel installation as per approved drawings and safety norms. Ensure correct installation of mounting structures (MMS), module alignment, and torque settings. Handle DC-side works including string formation, AJB installation, DC cabling, earthing, and lightning protection. Manage AC-side installation including inverter mounting, ACDB, cabling, and grid interconnection. On-Grid & Off-Grid Systems Configure and commission on-grid solar inverters. Perform off-grid inverter configuration, battery bank connections, and system testing. Ensure correct polarity, voltage matching, and protection settings. Testing & Commissioning Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, string testing, and inverter testing. Support net-metering inspections and DISCOM coordination where applicable. Assist in final commissioning and system handover. Quality & Safety Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, PPE usage, and site safety procedures. Conduct routine quality checks during installation stages. Identify and resolve technical issues at site. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with contractors, electricians, vendors, and clients for smooth execution. Prepare daily progress reports, site audit reports, and material usage records. Maintain site documentation including drawings, checklists, and commissioning records. Required Qualifications Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical or Civil acceptable with relevant solar experience). Minimum 2–3 years of experience in solar power installation projects, preferably rooftop systems. Strong understanding of solar PV systems , MMS structures, DC/AC wiring, and earthing. Experience in On-Grid and Off-Grid solar systems , inverter configuration, and battery connections. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SLDs, GA layouts, and installation manuals. Working knowledge of site safety practices and quality control procedures. Willingness to travel to project sites and conduct site audits.
