Instructor & Guide Lead students through safe and effective yoga sessions. Demonstrate and explain poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation practices. Motivator Encourage and inspire students to pursue wellness and personal growth through yoga. Foster a positive and inclusive environment. Educator Teach the philosophy and principles of yoga, including the eight limbs of yoga, ethics (yamas and niyamas), and lifestyle practices. Provide anatomical and physiological insights relevant to yoga practice. Observer Watch students carefully to ensure proper alignment and technique. Identify when modifications or adjustments are needed. Mentor Support students in setting and achieving personal goals related to yoga and mindfulness. Be a trusted figure in their wellness journey. Lifelong Learner Stay updated with new developments in yoga, anatomy, and teaching methods. Continue personal yoga practice and professional development. Responsibilities of a Yoga Teacher Class Preparation & Planning Design well-structured classes suitable for various skill levels. Prepare sequences and choose appropriate music or themes if applicable. Safety and Accessibility Prioritize student safety by avoiding risky adjustments and offering props or alternatives. Know how to handle injuries and special conditions. Professional Conduct Maintain ethical standards, boundaries, and confidentiality. Be punctual, respectful, and reliable. Communication Clearly explain postures, benefits, contraindications, and breathing techniques. Listen to student feedback and concerns. Adaptability Modify classes based on student needs, energy levels, or injuries. Handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally. Classroom Management Maintain a peaceful and respectful environment. Manage time efficiently and end sessions on time. Self-Practice & Reflection Maintain a regular personal yoga and meditation practice. Reflect on teaching methods and seek feedback for improvement.
