The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Segment CDP Architect/Consultant to help us unlock the full potential of existing Twilio Segment for our Australian client (Fashion Retailer). We've identified a need to optimize client's CDP to better align with their business outcomes and marketing objectives. This engagement is focused on a comprehensive assessment and strategic roadmap to enhance data integrity, usability, and overall platform value. What You'll Do: This engagement will involve a deep dive into our current Twilio Segment CDP implementation, with the primary objective of evaluating current configurations, data flows, and usage against common CDP best practices and Twilio Segment guidelines. Your services will include: Configuration Review: Thorough analysis of our existing Segment sources (e.g., website, mobile app, backend systems). Examination of configured destinations (e.g., marketing automation platforms, analytics tools, data warehouses). Review of implemented protocols and event schemas. Assessment of our Segment workspace settings, user permissions, and governance frameworks. Data Quality Assessment: Detailed examination of data collection points to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Analysis of event structures and properties, ensuring adherence to a well-defined tracking plan. Evaluation of our identity resolution processes and strategies to ensure a unified customer view. Integration Audit: Comprehensive review of key integrations with our marketing systems (e.g., email platforms, advertising platforms). Audit of integrations with analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, custom dashboards). Assessment of data flow and integration with other critical business systems (e.g., e-commerce platform, CRM). Best Practices Alignment: Identification of areas where current configurations can be optimized for improved performance, scalability, and efficiency. Recommendations for enhancing data governance, privacy, and compliance within Segment. Proposing solutions to align our Segment implementation with industry-leading CDP best practices. Deliverables: A detailed report outlining findings, identified gaps, and a prioritized list of actionable recommendations. A clear implementation blueprint to align our existing Segment implementation with best practices, enhancing data integrity, usability, and overall platform value. What You'll Bring: Proven Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Segment CDP Architect, Consultant, or similar role, with a strong focus on implementation, optimisation, and value realisation. Deep Segment Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of Twilio Segment's platform, including Sources, Destinations, Protocols, Tracking Plans, Audiences, Personas, Functions, and other key features. Data Acumen: Strong understanding of data modeling, event structures, identity resolution, and data quality principles. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with various data collection methods (e.g., JavaScript SDK, mobile SDKs, server-side tracking). Experience with APIs and integrating Segment with diverse systems. Knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis is a plus. Marketing & Analytics Integration Experience: Demonstrated experience integrating Segment with a wide range of marketing automation platforms, advertising platforms, and analytics tools (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics). Consulting Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders. Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage project timelines and deliverables effectively. Fashion Retail Experience (Preferred): Prior experience working with fashion retailers or e-commerce businesses is highly desirable, understanding the unique data challenges and opportunities in this sector. Certifications: Twilio Segment certifications are a significant plus. This is a remote, part-time contract role. You will work with a squad consisting of a Segment CDP Developer and a Marketing Data Analyst.

Required Skills & Experience 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles using DBT in client projects Strong proficiency in DBT (ideally with experience in DBT Cloud) Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling Experience with cloud data platforms (preferably Azure Databricks) Familiarity with CI/CD practices in data engineering Good understanding of Git , version control, and modular coding practices Exposure to modern data stack tools (e.g. Databricks, Fivetran) Excellent communication and problem-solving skills It is an advantage to have Experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog, Databricks Asset Bundle, DLT) Exposure to Azure Data Factory Python programming for data processing tasks Experience in consulting , client delivery, or startup environments Prior experience in Retail, Transportation/Logistics domain Interest in Agentic AI and DataOps/MLOps tooling What We're Looking For: Graduate in Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience in DBT Solid foundation in Python and experience with data structures, APIs, and software design.
