Prepare patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures by preparing site of entry, - draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting up pressure transducers and tubing. 18. Operational 1. Collects the data on Nosocomial infections through daily surveillance and culture reports. 2. Make regular visit to the clinical area to make sure that the patients with particular infection receives an appropriate treatment in regard to the isolation precaution, and the type of treatment that the patient has to receive. 3. Make sure that; the staffs are educated and updated with the protocols in relation to the infection control. 4. Advise and supervise the work of staff. Arrange special teaching session to the staff and even for specific group of patients pertaining to the infection control and prevention. 5. Collect data of patients with infections that require isolation precaution and use of specific antibiotics e.g. MRSA. 6. Conduct clinical audit to make sure that, the high standard of care in place in relation to the infection control and prevention. 7. Update self-knowledge by participating in the clinical governance meeting. 8. Cascade the updated information to the infection control link nurses of the hospital. 9. Share her or his concern or worries to the Infection control consultant/ microbiologist in order to get an idea and for a possible solution. 10. In the hospital situation, any outbreak of infection is normally informed by the Head of the microbiology or virology department. The information will then be cascaded to the Hospital/ ward through the infection control nurses and infection control link nurses. 11. The Infection Control Nurse will act as a resource person to staff around specific infection control issues concerning specific patients or groups of patients. 12.
