Role & responsibilities 1.1 Content Development Develop age-appropriate and pedagogically sound content in accordance with CBSE syllabus guidelines. Ensure that the content developed is plagiarism free and all copyright permissions have been sought and received. Ensure alignment with the latest National Education Policy (NEP) recommendations. Integrate interdisciplinary themes, life skills, values and experiential learning approaches. Develop engaging narratives, examples and activities to enhance conceptual understanding. Maintain consistency in tone, language and level of complexity appropriate for each grade. 1.2 Teacher Guide Development Develop structured teacher guides with clear lesson objectives, methodologies, activities and assessments. Provide detailed explanations, classroom strategies and differentiated instruction techniques. Suggest ways to integrate technology, storytelling and hands-on activities. Include continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) strategies, worksheets and remedial measures. 1.3 Content Review and Revision Conduct self and peer reviews to ensure content accuracy, coherence and alignment with learning outcomes. Revise and refine content based on editorial feedback and expert reviews. Ensure cultural sensitivity, inclusivity and adherence to ethical publishing standards. 1.4 Visual and Interactive Elements Provide guidance on illustrations, diagrams, infographics and other visual elements to enhance comprehension. Suggest interactive elements like puzzles, quizzes and hands-on activities to reinforce learning. Suggest digital supporting material like videos and audios. 1.5 Collaboration and Timelines Work closely with instructional designers, illustrators and editors to ensure cohesive content development. Adhere to the project timeline and submit deliverables as per the agreed milestones. Participate in review meetings and incorporate feedback promptly. 2. Deliverables Draft and final versions of textbooks and teacher guides for each Grade (1-5). Create lesson plans, activity sheets and assessment tools. Create guidelines for teachers on effective implementation of content. 3. Qualifications and Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Education, Curriculum Development, or any of the relevant subject areas, such as Mathematics, Science, English, Social Studies, Physical Education, Environmental Sciences, Soft Skills or Elementary Education focusing on pre-primary stage. Minimum 08 years of experience in curriculum development, textbook writing or educational publishing, preferably for ICSC or CBSE. Strong understanding of pedagogical frameworks, instructional design and child psychology. Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with the relevant Board’s curriculum standards and National Education Policy-2020 guidelines. Experience in developing age-appropriate content, including interactive and activity-based learning materials. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of educators, designers and editors. 4. Confidentiality and Intellectual Property All developed content will be the intellectual property of the commissioning publisher. SMEs are expected to maintain confidentiality and not share any content without prior permission.

Job Description Develop and manage a high-performing team of functional managers centered around a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and inclusion. Support and enable career growth and professional development, with succession planning in mind. Lead the academic vision for the development of high-quality, curriculum-aligned Teaching Learning Materials textbooks and teacher resources, supplementary materials for Classes 18 keeping in mind the level of schools we are catering to, have levelled content not only for students but teachers alike. Ensure alignment with national and/or international curriculum frameworks (e.g., NCF, CBSE, ICSE). Prepare the annual and multi-year academic content development roadmap. Supervise subject-wise teams for primary and upper primary levels. Ensure the content is age-appropriate, pedagogically sound, inclusive and contextual. Integrate 21st-century skills, foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) and multidisciplinary approaches as relevant. Review manuscript drafts for conceptual soundness before editorial review. Approve the final content drafts for submission to the editorial team. Facilitate peer reviews and engage subject experts where necessary. Recruit, mentor and manage academic teams (subject leads, writers, curriculum planners). Facilitate interdepartmental coordination, especially with the Chief Editor, Design and Digital teams, and client coordination team. Organize internal capacity building (e.g., pedagogy workshops, curriculum updates). Lead the development of scope and sequence charts, learning outcomes and assessment frameworks. Encourage integration of innovative pedagogical strategies (e.g., activity-based learning, storytelling, real-life applications). Interact with academic advisors, reviewers, school leaders and curriculum boards. Represent the academic wing during presentations to clients or education departments. Gather and analyse feedback from school trials, teacher trainings or user reviews. Maintain structured records of academic plans, review reports, feedback logs and approval documentation. Submit monthly and quarterly reports to the Managing Director on academic progress and issues. Ensure textbooks are adaptable to school-specific requirements, such as language preferences, examination/state board guidelines or cultural context. Collaborate with the digital and product teams to ensure textbooks have corresponding digital assets, such as interactive lessons, videos or assessments. Guide content adaptation for blended or hybrid learning environments. Ensure that academic content adheres to copyright regulations, and diversity, equity and inclusion principles. Assist in designing teacher support resources, orientation modules and capacity-building workshops tailored to textbook use. Participate in delivering training sessions, webinars or school-based academic consultations. Identify academic risks (e.g., curriculum and policy changes, or delays in content creation) and plan mitigation strategies. Ensure academic continuity in case of staff changes or external disruptions. Provide academic inputs for sales and marketing collaterals (e.g., sample books, presentations, product brochures). Brief sales teams on academic philosophy and textbook structure to ensure correct messaging to client schools.
