Amrita Vidyalayam, Kalavakkam, Chennai, is seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate should have sound accounting knowledge, strong numerical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records and manage day-to-day accounting activities efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or a relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Previous experience in accounting is preferred.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Knowledge of Tally, GST, and bank reconciliation is preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports.
• Good communication, organizational, and numerical skills.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records, including ledgers, cash books, bills, vouchers, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain records of school fee collections and monitor outstanding payments.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and supporting documents.
• Perform bank reconciliation and verify financial transactions.
• Process payments and maintain records of income and expenditure.
• Assist with GST documentation and other statutory compliance requirements, where applicable.
• Ensure the accuracy of accounts and proper maintenance of financial documents.
• Coordinate with the school administration regarding accounting and financial matters.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the management.
