What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and optimize complex
PostgreSQL queries
, including stored functions, triggers, views, joins, and window functions. - Develop and maintain
PL/pgSQL stored procedures, functions, and database routines
to support business requirements. - Improve database performance through
index tuning, query plan analysis, execution optimization, and table partitioning
wherever required. - Analyze and resolve database performance issues, including
locking, deadlocks, and concurrency-related challenges
. - Build and maintain backend services using
C#/.NET and/or Python
, integrating them with PostgreSQL databases. - Develop and maintain
GraphQL APIs using Hasura
on top of PostgreSQL. - Design and implement
RESTful and GraphQL endpoints
with appropriate validations, error handling, and structured responses. - Implement effective
transaction management, concurrency control, isolation levels, and data integrity mechanisms
. - Write and maintain
unit tests, integration tests, and database-level tests
to ensure application reliability. - Document SQL routines, backend business logic, API schemas, and technical implementation details.
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal and external regulations, procedures, and development guidelines.

What We Seek In You
4 - 7 years of experience
working with relational databases, with deep hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL
.- Strong experience in
PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, joins, and window functions
. - Strong hands-on experience in
query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning
. - Strong understanding of
PostgreSQL locking mechanisms, deadlocks, concurrency management, and transaction isolation levels
. 5+ years of backend application development experience
using C#/.NET and/or Python
.2+ years of hands-on experience with GraphQL and Hasura
, particularly with PostgreSQL integration.- Strong understanding of
REST API development, API design principles, backend architecture, validations, and error handling
. - Experience in designing and implementing scalable backend services integrated with relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with
Git, version control, branching strategies, and standard software development workflows
. - Experience writing
unit tests, integration tests, and database testing scripts
. - Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database and backend issues.
- Good communication, collaboration, documentation, and ownership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on
enterprise-scale PostgreSQL database applications
. - Strong expertise in advanced
PL/pgSQL programming and database-side business logic implementation
. - Experience handling
high-volume databases, complex queries, and database performance bottlenecks
. - Practical experience with
PostgreSQL query execution plans (EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE), indexing, and partitioning strategies
. - Experience developing backend microservices using
C#/.NET Core or Python
. - Hands-on experience building
GraphQL APIs, Hasura Actions, Events, Relationships, and Permissions
. - Experience integrating GraphQL and REST APIs with enterprise backend applications.
- Knowledge of database security, access management, and data governance practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
