Job Overview Qualification Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy / Welding Alternative: Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Quality with relevant experience Preferred: Knowledge of ISO standards, inspection tools, NDT, welding quality. 1012 years of experience in Quality Assurance & Quality Control within heavy fabrication industry. Work Experience Knowledge Strong knowledge of welding quality standards, fabrication processes, and NDT methods. Expertise in QMS, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and root cause analysis tools. Familiarity with ISO, and customer audit requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Excellent communication and customer handling skills. Leadership and team management ability. Professional Skills Proficiency in ERP/quality modules, MS Office, and statistical tools. Develop suppliers through audits and quality improvement programs. Drive implementation of APQP, PPAP, and control plans. Drive training and awareness programs for operators and engineers. Ensure calibration and upkeep of measuring instruments. Ensure incoming, in-process, and final inspection effectiveness. Establish and monitor quality systems across the plant. Responsibilities Handle customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. Lead and manage the Quality Assurance & Quality Control teams. Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits. Monitor quality KPIs such as PPM, COPQ, and rework/rejection. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and zero-defect mindset. Support NPD team with quality planning and validation. Responsible for Energy saving, implementation of ISO-9001 / ISO-14001 / ISO-45001 / 5'S Achievement of customer quality targets (PPM, complaints). Effective handling of customer complaints and closure within timelines. Implementation and adherence to quality management systems. Reduction in internal rejections and rework. KRA Supplier quality improvement. Team capability development and training. 100% closure of customer complaints within agreed timeline. Audit compliance score 95%. Calibration compliance = 100%. No. of process improvements/innovation projects ( 2 per month). KPI COPQ reduction 10% YoY. Customer PPM 500. Internal rejection rate 1%. Supplier PPM 800.
