Vision-Aid India is a small but dynamic and growing NGO with a team currently comprising around 70+ staff members. Vision-Aid provides rehabilitation and skill development services for the visually impaired through its network of resource centres across India, through virtual training programs and through its online academy. The Centre Manager at Vision-Aid will focus on Candidate’s outreach and mobilization, Community engagement, Placement support, Employer Connect and achieving performance targets in alignment with Vision-Aid’s mission to empower visually impaired individuals. Also, the Centre manager will oversee the daily operations of the skill development center, ensuring effective training delivery, staff management, and strong candidate engagement. He / She will uphold Vision-Aid’s credibility and foster meaningful relationships within the local community to drive the centre’s success. We have one position open in Delhi and one in Pune. Key Responsibilities:1. Operational Management: Manage daily training operations, including coordinating candidates and trainers, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the facility. The Centre Manager should be dynamic in leading activities such as employer connect, NGO engagement, outreach initiatives, and vendor management. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on center performance metrics. Ensure timely closure reports for each batch, maintaining proper documentation. Be a Team Member and coordinate with all within the Organization as is necessary for effective contribution. 2. Training Delivery and Quality Assurance: Implement training programs aligned with Vision-Aid’s curriculum and quality standards. Monitor the quality of training delivered by trainers and provide constructive feedback. Conduct periodic assessments and assignments, maintain records, and share reports with management. Collect periodic feedback from candidates and share insights with management. Ensure high levels of candidate engagement, motivation, and satisfaction throughout the training journey. Maintain structured documentation as a key area of training, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. 3. Candidate Identification and Screening: Conduct outreach within the community to identify and enrol potential trainees, emphasizing inclusivity. Assess candidate needs and provide necessary support to facilitate successful program completion. Maintain a supportive environment to enhance candidate retention and success. 4. Placement Support: Ensure job readiness training, including resume building, interview skills, and career guidance. Track post-training employment outcomes and support candidates in securing sustainable jobs. Accompany candidates to interviews and provide necessary administrative support to ensure they feel comfortable. Demonstrate computer operation skills to employers during placement discussions to showcase the capabilities of visually impaired candidates. 5. Employer Engagement: Meet employers in Delhi / Pune and nearby placement potential location to achieve BRA program targets and report conversion rates to Placement Team. Identify and connect with potential employers through virtual platforms and field visits across locations. Learn best practices from the Placement Team and provide daily reports to ensure a 40 - 50% placement target for each batch. 6. Staff Management: Lead and inspire a team of trainers and administrative staff to achieve center goals. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development feedback. 7. Community Engagement: Engage with blind schools, government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote the training program and gather candidate leads. Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and industry partners. Actively participate in community events to promote Vision-Aid’s programs. Ensure the Centre maintains a strong and positive presence within the community. 8. Reporting, Documentation, and Compliance: Conduct proper recording and documentation of training sessions, assessments, feedback, and outcomes. Maintain structured reports and ensure timely submission of batch closure reports. Provide regular updates on center activities and performance to Vision-Aid’s management team. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines, ensuring alignment with Vision-Aid’s operational framework. Vision-Aid provides rehabilitation and skill development services for the visually impaired through its network of resource centers across India, through virtual training programs and through its online academy. Vision-Aid has conceptualised Project Springboard, which envisages Partnership with Blind Schools Pan India. The partnership comprises of imparting Vision-Aid training programs, Distribution of Assistive Devices, to the students at the partner Blind Schools. From a modest beginning in 2021, the number of Blind Schools has now grown to fifty in number spread across India. Job Description: Vision-Aid India is keen on continuing the Model of project Springboard and enroll more Blind Schools, by reaching out to many under-served cities and towns, so that the Visually impaired children get access to enhanced Education and various Assistive Devices, which will help them live independently and do well in their studies. The main objective of the program are as follows: Help create necessary technical infrastructure at the school to enable the students to acquire specialized skills; This would include providing desktop computers, smartphones, assistive devices, access to internet connectivity at the computer labs, power backup systems for the labs and so on. Provide specialized training for the students using Vision-Aid curriculum; Some of the programs that could be offered are: Certificate Course in Computer Applications Certificate Course in Mobile Technology Spoken English Programs (for beginners as well as Intermediate levels) Orientation and Mobility Life Skills Training Counselling Mobile Technology Train the existing school staff on Vision-Aid curriculum or deploy Vision-Aid staff at the school to import the training courses listed in item no 2 above. Vision-Aid is seeking a program manager who would spearhead this program end-to-end and would be responsible for delivering the required outcomes. The position requires an individual who has prior experience working in schools, colleges or institutions providing education. Preference would be given to one’s who has prior experience collaborating with schools for the blind or disabled. The MOST IMPORTANT aspect of this Role is that this position requires someone who is highly service oriented and interested in helping to bring a positive difference in the life of visually impaired population.
