As a Creative Art & Design Intern , you will help conceptualize, prototype, and execute studio projects while also assisting in the design and delivery of engaging workshops. You’ll work across both hands-on craft and AI-assisted creative tools .
As a Creative Art & Design Intern , you will assist in research, prototyping, workshop development, and participant engagement. You will work across craft, design, and AI-assisted creativitylearning by doing and helping others explore the creative process. Key Responsibilities Research & Exploration Research various materials such as fabrics, yarns, foams, thermocol, cardboard, MDF, acrylics, vinyl, felt, and eco-friendly alternatives. Study and document techniques including crochet, resin art, tufting, weaving, papercraft, decoupage, Cricut workflows, and model-making. Understand surface finishing techniques like priming, painting, varnishing, sealing, and waterproofing. Document safe and effective use of tools including Cricut machines, tufting guns, foam cutters, adhesives, and cutting tools. Explore AI tools for idea generation, inspiration boards, patterns, and layout planning. Design & Prototyping Create concept sketches, mockups, and sample pieces. Prepare SVG files and Cricut-ready designs. Build cardboard models, thermocol mockups, and mixed-material prototypes. Assist in creating tufting frames, stencils, and design guides. Test, refine, and iterate designs based on feedback. Workshop Development Assist in developing workshop content and learning modules. Prepare material kits, tools, demo samples, and instruction sheets. Support trial runs and help improve workshop flow and timing. Workshop Facilitation & Interaction Assist participants during workshops and explain processes clearly. Guide safe use of tools and equipment. Encourage creativity and maintain a fun, inclusive learning environment. Collect participant feedback and suggest improvements. Documentation & Studio Support Capture photos and videos of processes and finished work. Maintain project logs, research notes, and learning documentation. Support inventory management and studio organization. Skills & Competencies Must-Have: Strong interest in art, craft, design, or DIY projects. Willingness to work hands-on and learn new tools. Attention to detail and patience. Good communication and people-interaction skills. Curiosity about using AI in creative workflows (training provided). Nice to Have (Bonus): Experience with crochet, tufting, Cricut, painting, papercraft, or model-making. Familiarity with design tools like Canva, Illustrator, Procreate, etc. Interest in photography or creative documentation. Prior experience assisting workshops or teaching. What Youll Gain Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design and ideation. Practical exposure to Cricut machines, tufting tools, cardboard modeling, and foam cutting.
