About the job: Key responsibilities: 1. Support the design and simulation of optical lenses and light distribution patterns for inset or elevated lights by modeling lenses, reflectors, diffusers, and collimators to achieve targeted beam patterns 2. Work with optical standards such as FAA AC 150/5345- 46E, ICAO Annex 14, and IEC 61827 to ensure compliance 3. Apply knowledge of optical material properties, including refractive indices, transmission, and absorption, while considering color temperature, CRI, and beam angle specifications 4. Assist in photometric testing and validation of optical systems for performance verification 5. Conduct benchmarking of competitor products and prepare detailed technical comparison reports 6. Utilize knowledge of optical coatings such as anti-reflective and UV-resistant types to enhance durability and performance in extreme conditions 7. Design optics that accommodate heat generated by LEDs to ensure consistent performance and extended lifespan 8.
