Client: Highly reputed , a volunteer-driven nonprofit focused on transforming rural education in India by building and upgrading schools in underserved communities and has built more than 100 schools across India

.

• Civil Engineering degree with significant experience in construction/project management.
• Typically 15-20+ years of relevant experience, preferably with experience managing multiple projects across different geographies.
• Strong experience in institutional/public building construction and contractor management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cost, quality, safety and timelines simultaneously.
• Strong strategic and problem-solving skills with the ability to build processes and teams.
• Oversee the planning, design, construction and completion of rural government school infrastructure projects across India. The role will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, sustainable and cost-effective school infrastructure within agreed timelines.
• Comfortable with extensive travel and working in rural and challenging project environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Engineering team responsible for school construction projects across India.
• Oversee the complete construction lifecycle assessment, planning, design, estimation, tendering/vendor selection, construction, quality control and handover.
• Build a national vendor ecosystem identify, qualify, empanel and manage contractors, architects, structural consultants, PMC/engineering partners and specialist vendors across India.
• Establish and enforce standards for quality, safety, sustainability, cost efficiency and timelines.
• Monitor project schedules, quality and risks and take corrective action when required.
• Cost Management: planning, estimating, budgeting, and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinating with contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction or design issues.
