US Tax Supervisor, Financial Services, Hedge Funds

As a Tax Manager at RSM, you will play a crucial role in providing detailed review and analysis of complex Hedge Fund and/or FoF partnership tax returns. Your responsibilities will include: - Mentoring associates and senior associates by providing real-time project feedback and regular check-ins. - Working on multiple complex issues and effectively communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate client-team communication while managing risks for both clients and the firm. - Acting as the Tax client service coordinator for designated clients. - Advising clients on a wide range of RSM's tax services, such as planning, research, compliance, and general mergers and acquisitions activities. - Reviewing research findings to ensure consistency with firm policies and professional standards. - Assisting in new business development, extended services, and recognizing tax issues for existing clients. - Managing client needs in collaboration with cross-functional engagement teams across the tax practice. Qualifications required for this role include: - A Masters degree in commerce, Accounting, or a related field. - 4+ years of experience in business taxation with a Big 4 or a large national, regional, or local accounting firm; or equivalent experience in the industry or with a law firm. - Active CPA, CA, EA certification. - Previous experience in tax compliance & consulting for Asset Management clients. - Strong knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance. - Ability to work closely with clients to address queries and collect necessary information for tax service requirements. - Proven track record in managing client engagements from start to finish.
