What You’ll Do: -Edit and produce professional video content for digital platforms -Collaborate with writers and designers to conceptualize urban-themed video projects -Apply color correction, transitions, motion graphics, and sound design -Optimize videos for platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter -Maintain a well-organized media library and adhere to copyright standards -Stay ahead of digital trends and storytelling techniques What You Bring: -Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects (and other Adobe Suite tools) -Strong storytelling instincts and editing sensibility -Experience with motion graphics and typography -Knowledge of camera handling -A collaborative attitude and ability to meet tight deadlines -Background in journalism, media, or urban content is a big plus! It provides valuable information, research, and updates in a concise and engaging format. Role Description This is a full-time on-site Sub Editor role based in Delhi, India. The Sub Editor will be responsible for editing and proofreading articles, ensuring the quality and accuracy of published content. Additional responsibilities include conducting in-depth research to support articles, refining text to align with the magazine's style and tone, and collaborating with writers and other editorial team members to produce insightful and high-quality content. Adherence to deadlines and maintaining the editorial standards of Urban Update will be a core part of the role. Qualifications Experience with Writing, Editing, Proofreading, and attention to detail in content quality Proficiency in Writing and creating high-quality and engaging content Knowledge of New Media trends and familiarity with digital platforms Strong Research skills to gather accurate and reliable information Clear communication and collaboration abilities Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field Prior experience as a sub editor or similar editorial role is an advantage
Responsibilities Research and write news articles and features focused on urban governance, sustainability, policy, and social issues in India and globally Assist in editorial tasks including proofreading, fact-checking, and formatting content for print and online platforms Generate content tailored for digital platforms, including short-form articles, carousels, and newsletter blurbs Create concise and engaging content for Urban Update’s social media handles (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) Participate in content ideation and editorial planning meetings Assist in the planning and documentation of Urban Update events, interviews, and editorial campaigns Qualifications Strong writing and storytelling skills for both print and digital Fresh graduates with strong portfolios and digital awareness are encouraged to apply Key Skills Writing & Editing: Ability to craft compelling stories and revise to fix mistakes. Adaptability: Capable of adjusting to the unpredictable nature of news reporting and publishing. Preferable Interest in urban affairs or related topics.
