Role profile Statement: Position: Assistant Engineer / Officer- Quality Department: Quality Job Grade: Officer Job Level: O -III Location: MIDC Gokul Shirgaon, Kolhapur. Employment Type: Full-time Role Purpose: Responsible for providing engineering support to operations and for quality assurance and control of the materials and manufactured product as per industry regulations & standards, and equipments management. The incumbent will work closely with the production team to inspect materials, monitor in -process quality and the finished products and the quality assurance & control at each level of material handling. Key Accountabilities: 1 . Quality Assurance of the Materials - Receive Materials as per the PO and check the quality specifications - Coordinate with commercial in case of non-conformity of materials - Approve the material as per the PO and submit the Material Invoice to Commercial 2. Quality Control of the Process and Products - Perform process inspection during each batch production - Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects. - Carry out monitoring and checking of all quality related key parameters - Raw Material, In-Process and FG Goods - Verify first piece and sign report for each batch production - Monitor the scrap generation and rework levels. Take corrective actions to improve the quality aspects during the production process - Inspect the FG and provide report for Dispatch arrangement. - Qualify and approve the FG packing as per the Sales order for dispatch 3 . Equipment Maintenance and Spares, Tools & Tackles Management - Carry out the planned maintenance of the machines/equipments as per schedule - Liaise with the Maintenance Contractor for Major breakdowns, as necessary - Diagnose and repair machines, regular calibration of equipments & measuring tools through preventive maintenance - Check spare part list. Maintain the minimum required quantity of the Spares - Upkeep the Spares to meet Production Plan - Maintain records for the Maintenance of the Equipments, Machines and Spares utilization 4. Provide Engineering /Technical support for issues related to Products and Customers - Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information - Provide interpretation of geometric dimensions and tolerance requirements for fabrication of products. - Conversion of all the Customer Drawings into Auto-CAD - Resolve customer queries associated with the technical information associated with the products - When required, provide support to Purchasing for evaluation and qualification of new suppliers - Visit customers and suppliers as required to investigate non-conformance issues 5. Quality Audit - Ensure adherence to ISO and other relevant quality management systems. - Participate in internal audits and assist in external quality audits. - Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and test documentation. 6. Monitor Outsourced Manufacturing of the Parts - Evaluate, Inspect and Test the conformity of the first pass of the outsourced part manufacturing - Coordinate with the Vendor for production scheduling - Resolve any technical issues associated with the product 7. Store Management 7.1. Material Stock Management - Check that the minimum material stock is maintained as per the defined levels - Coordinate with the Commercial for re-order material, as per the timelines, if below minimum levels. - If required, participate with the commercial for new Vendor finalization 7.2 . Maintain Stock List - Verify Physical quantity of the stock at the required frequency - Classify the stock as per the Consumption, Cost - Maintain and update stock data and Stock Value as per the required frequency [Weekly, Monthly] - Carry-out stock audit based on the physical verification and system report, as required. - Coordinate with the Consultant [Costing] for cross verification 7.3. Dies & Spare Management - Allocate storage space for the Dies and Spares - Properly arrange the Dies and the Spares s per the area allotted - Maintain the Records of the Dies and Spares 7.4. Material Dispensing - Handover material quantity to production as required as per production plan - Maintain records of the Material issued/dispensed Interactions: The officer reports to management for quality records and maintenance updates, coordinates with the production team for material assurance, finished goods approval, and maintenance planning, and works with the commercial team for invoicing and re-ordering materials. Operators receive instructions for quality specifications and equipment maintenance. Externally, the officer interacts with vendors, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues, handle queries, share information, and oversee outsourced manufacturing. Qualification [ Education & Experience]: Graduate or Diploma in Engineering [Mechanical] 2-5 years of experience in Production & Maintenance, Quality Management Knowledge of Quality Control & Testing Tools, Measuring Instruments, and Inspection Methods.
