Job Title: Technical Lead – HPC (High Performance Computing) Location: Chennai, India Job Type: Full-Time Experience Level: 6 to 10 Years Notice Period: Immediate to 60 Days Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – HPC (High Performance Computing) to design, implement, and support high-performance computing clusters. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in HPC systems, Linux environments, server and GPU architecture, networking, storage, and cloud computing. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and support scalable and robust HPC clusters. Work with modern HPC hardware including CPUs, GPUs, storage systems, and high-speed interconnects. Prepare hardware BOMs, coordinate with vendors, and oversee hardware release activities. Configure Linux-based operating systems for HPC environments (SuSE, RedHat, Rocky, Ubuntu). Translate system-level specifications and performance requirements into project deliverables. Ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Support manufacturing and customer deployments with quality images, scripts, and documentation. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of hands-on experience in: HPC systems and cluster architecture. Linux system administration (flavor-agnostic). Server, GPU, networking, BIOS, BMC, and storage technologies. TCP/IP fundamentals, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP. Shell and Python scripting. Experience with tools like PXE/Netboot, SystemD, and Linux High Availability. Proficiency with configuration management tools (e.g., Salt, Puppet, Chef). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. (BE/BTech, MCA, MSc only – 3-year degrees or diplomas not accepted). Preferred Skills: DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git-based repositories). Containerization tools: Docker, Singularity. Monitoring and orchestration: Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana. Web infrastructure: Apache/Nginx, proxy/reverse proxy, load balancing (HAProxy). Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and deliver on schedule. Adaptable in a fast-paced and changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate Criteria: No significant gaps in employment. Stable job history (minimum 2 years with recent employers). Candidates from HCL will not be considered for this role. Only candidates with a core HPC background will be considered (pure DevOps profiles will not be a good fit).
