What will you be doing | Ngā whainga We're looking for a bold, strategic, and creative Public Relations Manager to lead our earned media and storytelling efforts in India—one of Asia’s most exciting growth markets. As the Public Relations Manager for India, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping how Indian travellers experience and connect with New Zealand. This is a strategic and creative leadership role that blends storytelling, media relations, and content strategy to inspire travel to New Zealand. You’ll lead the direction in building awareness, driving engagement, and converting interest into visitation—bringing the magic of Aotearoa to life. Lead the development and execution of PR and communications strategy for the India market. Deliver high-impact earned media coverage through campaigns, events, influencers, and partnerships. Create and localise compelling content that inspires Indian travellers to visit New Zealand. Manage social media activity to amplify brand messaging and engagement. Build and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and industry stakeholders. Collaborate with global teams to align India’s PR efforts with Tourism New Zealand’s global strategy. Respond swiftly to media issues and manage crisis communications effectively. Oversee PR agency performance and ensure delivery of measurable results and ROI. What you will need | Ngā pūkenga mō tēnei tūranga Proven experience in public relations and communications (min of 7 years) in international organisations and ideally in travel, tourism, or lifestyle sectors. Experienced in developing and executing communications strategies across Paid, Owned, Earned, and Trade channels, ensuring cohesive storytelling and brand alignment A strong commercial mindset: you understand how to drive value, spot opportunities, and turn strategy into measurable growth. Understanding of the Indian media landscape and consumer behaviour. Exceptional storytelling skills and a passion for creating meaningful connections. Experience in designing and delivering high-impact PR campaigns, including media events, influencer collaborations, and broadcast/online coverage. Strategic thinking, creativity, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Effective at working in a cross-cultural environment and collaborating with global teams. Experience working with matrix organisations and international teams Experienced with managing PR Agencies Fluent in English A passion for New Zealand and a desire to share its stories with the world Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
