Role: PowerBuilder Developer Industry Type: Marine Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Education: Any Degree with Computer Specialization Experience Required: 2- 7 years Salary: Market Value Job Description We are seeking a skilled PowerBuilder Developer to maintain, enhance, and support our ERP Application built on the PowerBuilder platform. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in PowerBuilder 12.5 and PowerBuilder 2022 , strong knowledge of PowerScript , SQL , and backend databases (Sybase and MS SQL Server) . The role involves application development, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and integrating PowerBuilder applications with external systems using REST APIs . Roles & Responsibilities Application Development & Maintenance Design, develop, maintain, and enhance PowerBuilder applications (Classic and/or .NET versions). Create and manage DataWindow objects, user objects, windows, menus, and controls. Write efficient, reusable, and reliable PowerScript code. Debugging & Troubleshooting Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing PowerBuilder applications. Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and memory management issues. Ensure stability, scalability, and optimal performance of applications. Database & SQL Programming Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for backend operations. Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning. Collaborate with database administrators to ensure data consistency and integrity. Integration & API Services Integrate PowerBuilder applications with external systems. Consume and implement REST API services for system integrations. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and data exchange. Performance & Stability Optimize PowerBuilder application performance through effective coding and memory management. Conduct performance tuning of both application and database layers. Maintain stability and reliability of applications in production environments. Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in PowerBuilder IDE (Classic and/or .NET) versions 12.5 and 2022 preferred . Strong hands-on experience with DataWindow objects, PowerScript, and UI controls . Solid understanding of SQL programming , query optimization , and database performance tuning . Backend experience with Sybase and MS SQL Server . Experience in debugging, troubleshooting , and application performance optimization . Exposure to REST API integration (consume and implement). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
