Objective : To achieve 3 dumper trips per hour with a 3 km lead. Role & responsibilities Coordinate and motivate the team to achieve optimal trip targets. Identify high-performing dumper and grader operators and respective trainers. Replace and train underperforming operators to meet benchmark speeds. Monitor daily performance reports for dumper, grader, and loader operators. Communicate repairs and maintenance requirements to the shift controller. Ensure grading and haul roads are optimized in coordination with maintenance. Report equipment-related issues promptly to the mechanical department. Strive for "Zero Spotting" with support from trainers. Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols. Prepare and submit performance and training reports. Report any incidents or mechanical faults promptly. Perform other tasks as assigned. Preferred candidate profile Education : B.E. / B.Tech in Mining Engineering Must possess a 1st Class Mines Manager Certificate (DGMS certified) Experience : 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in large open-cast mining operations , preferably in coal mines Proven track record as a Section Head or equivalent leadership role Experience in managing dumper fleets, grader operations, and haul-road maintenance Exposure to production, maintenance, and safety coordination in high-capacity mining projects Technical Skills : In-depth knowledge of dumper operations, road gradient performance, trip cycle optimization Ability to read and analyze operator performance data and implement improvements Familiarity with mining equipment performance parameters and productivity metrics Comfortable using Excel, ERP/MIS tools , and reporting dashboards Behavioral Competencies : Strong leadership and team motivation capabilities Decision-making under pressure with a focus on safety and productivity Excellent communication skills for coordinating across operations, maintenance, safety, and HR teams High level of discipline, accountability , and adherence to statutory and company standards Other Preferences : Candidates with prior experience in NTPC or other government/large-scale coal projects will be preferred Willingness to work in remote mine locations and in rotational shifts if required

The ideal candidate must have 5-7 years of hands-on experience specifically in opencast coal mines and be proficient with Minex, AutoCAD, and Global Mapper software. Key Responsibilities: Prepare short-term and long-term mine plans and production schedules in alignment with project goals. Conduct pit design, dump design, haul road design, and optimization using Minex and AutoCAD. Analyze geological and topographical data to develop accurate mine models and layouts. Collaborate with geology, operations, and survey teams for data integration and plan implementation. Monitor actual performance vs. planned targets and suggest corrective measures. Update and maintain mine planning databases and digital models using Global Mapper. Ensure adherence to statutory compliance and environmental guidelines while designing mining plans. Support technical and operational decisions with planning inputs and scenario analysis. Prepare and present mine planning reports to senior management. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering. Mandatory 5-7 years of relevant experience in opencast coal mining operations. Proficient in Minex, AutoCAD, and Global Mapper with hands-on working knowledge. Strong understanding of mine design, scheduling, and production planning. Good analytical, communication, and coordination skills. Familiarity with Indian mining laws and regulations is a plus. Preferred Attributes: Strong problem-solving mindset and detail orientation. Ability to work independently as well as within a cross-functional team. Experience working with large-scale coal projects or contractors is an added advantage.
