Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and strategic Social Media & Community Engagement Specialist to strengthen our online presence and deepen our connection with the global Drupal community. Beyond content creation, this role is about mobilizing digital communities , nurturing authentic relationships, and turning passive followers into active participants—especially within the nonprofit and open-source spaces. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a social media strategy focused on community-building , with a strong emphasis on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms. Create compelling, community-focused content (text, images, videos, etc.) that informs, inspires, and sparks conversations. Identify and engage with Drupal community members, contributors, and influencers to foster a sense of belonging and collaboration. Drive meaningful interactions by initiating and moderating discussions, polls, and campaigns aligned with community interests. Track and analyze engagement metrics to assess impact, improve strategy, and report on growth. Collaborate with editorial and outreach teams to amplify news articles, interviews, and events that highlight community efforts and achievements. Provide live and scheduled coverage for Drupal-related events, summits, and initiatives. Explore and experiment with tools, trends, and best practices in digital community mobilization, especially in nonprofit and open-source ecosystems. Support social media ad campaigns to boost reach and strategic impact where necessary. Requirements: Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, Community Manager, or similar role with a focus on community engagement . Deep understanding of how to build, nurture, and activate online communities , preferably in nonprofit or open-source contexts. Excellent writing skills and the ability to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Proficiency in social media analytics and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social). Knowledge of LinkedIn and emerging platforms relevant to tech and nonprofit audiences. A collaborative mindset and passion for open-source or nonprofit missions. Familiarity with the Drupal community is a strong plus. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.
