ABOUT US

SPEZL is a printed electronics company in Mumbai. We screen-print functional inks onto fabric, film and glass to make printed heaters, sensors, antennas and wearable electrodes for partners in India and abroad. Our own brand, iðoona, makes heated apparel on the same technology. We are a small team, so your work turns into real products quickly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will make sure our smart textiles last. Printed heaters in iðoona jackets and electrodes in wearable bands have to survive washing, stretching, sweat and daily wear. You will choose the materials, set up the tests, find out why things fail, and fix them with the design and production teams. You will work directly with the founder.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Select fabrics, yarns, TPU films, adhesives and encapsulants for printed heaters and electrodes

- Set up and run reliability tests: washing, abrasion, flex and stretch cycling, peel strength, sweat and humidity

- Measure the electrical performance of textile parts before and after testing

- Investigate failures from tests and customer returns, and write clear reports

- Work with garment makers on lamination, sewing and care instructions

- Build our library of tested materials and suppliers

WHAT YOU BRING

- You are an independent learner. Much of this work is not covered in formal education, so you pick up new materials, tools and methods on your own initiative.

- B.Tech or M.Tech in Textile Technology or a related field

- Strong textile basics: fibres, knits and wovens, GSM, stretch and recovery

- Familiarity with ISO or AATCC test methods

- Heat press or lamination experience, at work or in college

- Careful records and a habit of asking why something failed

- Conductive yarns, conductive inks on fabric, or other e-textiles

- Sportswear or functional apparel

- Seam sealing and bonding

- Experience in a textile testing lab

- Weekly off: Sundays and alternate Saturdays

- Pay: based on experience
