To succeed in this role, you should have at least 4+ years of experience in Java-based automation and be proficient in Selenium and Playwright for UI testing. Additionally, expertise in REST API automation with tools like RestAssured is essential. Your skill set should also include TestNG or JUnit, Maven or Gradle, Git, SQL, and strong problem-solving abilities along with effective communication skills. Your responsibilities will involve designing, building, and maintaining Java automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, and RestAssured. You will be required to implement scalable UI and API test suites covering positive, negative, and edge cases. Integration of tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions is a key aspect of this role. Troubleshooting failures, debugging scripts, and validating DB interactions are also part of your daily tasks. Collaboration within Agile teams, defining acceptance criteria, and sharing best practices are crucial for success in this role. Experience in BDD using tools like Cucumber and Gherkin is preferred. You should also be familiar with parallel execution, test reporting, and mocking/stubbing techniques. Exposure to performance testing or cloud-native tools will be an added advantage.
