Position Summary We are seeking a talented and motivated Naval Architect with minimum 23 years of industry experience in marine or mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will support internal and external R&D projects , assist in the development of new propeller and propulsion system designs, and work closely with the UK engineering team to deliver high-performance solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering design principles , hydrodynamics , and marine propulsion systems , along with the ability to provide sound technical and commercial solutions tailored to customer needs. Key Responsibilities Support the design, analysis, and optimization of marine propellers and propulsion systems. Develop numerical simulation models to assess hydrodynamic performance and vessel efficiency. Perform hydrodynamic, structural, and performance calculations using CFD and analytical methods. Prepare detailed design drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation . Assist in the development, testing, and commercialization of prototype systems. Collaborate with shipyards, naval architects, and project stakeholders to develop custom propulsion solutions. Provide technical sales and design support to internal and external customers. Participate in R&D initiatives , product improvement projects, and field performance evaluations. Coordinate with UK technical teams for design validation and project execution. Support manufacturing, testing, and performance validation at the Vadodara facility. Required Qualifications & Skills Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred). Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in marine design, shipbuilding, or propulsion system development. Sound understanding of hydrodynamics, propulsion design principles, and CFD fundamentals. Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks , or equivalent 3D design tools. Exposure to CFD simulations, FEA, and technical report writing . Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and international environment . Commercial awareness and ability to incorporate business considerations into technical decisions. Desirable Experience Hands-on experience with marine engines, powertrain systems , or ship performance evaluation . Knowledge of ship design, shipbuilding, and propulsion integration . Previous exposure to research, testing, and model-scale evaluation projects in a marine environment.
