Job Description: SAP Basis Consultant Position Overview: We seek a motivated and detail-oriented SAP Basis Consultant with 1+ years of experience to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a fresher or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration and support. The role involves working in a shift-based environment to ensure the smooth operation of SAP systems. Key Responsibilities: Support SAP system monitoring and performance tuning activities. Perform basic user administration tasks, including role and authorisation management. Learn and assist in system backups, patch applications, and disaster recovery processes. Troubleshoot and resolve fundamental technical issues under the guidance of senior team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support SAP system requirements. Maintain system documentation and adhere to organisational standards. Identifies and resolves business technical issues Provided technical support to SAP users, resolved technical issues, and guided using the SAP system. Monitoring the performance of SAP systems and taking steps to optimise their performance, such as implementing new hardware or reconfiguring existing systems Responsible for managing user access to SAP systems, including setting up and maintaining user accounts, assigning roles and authorisations, and monitoring user activity Knowledge of database management systems (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, etc.). Familiarity with operating systems like Linux, Unix, and Windows. Basic understanding of network protocols and infrastructure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Flexibility to work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends. Knowledge of GRC authorisation and process. Responsible for managing and protecting sensitive data within SAP systems, including data backup and recovery procedures Works closely with other internal teams, such as the IT, operations, and finance teams, to ensure that SAP systems meet the needs of the organisation Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on technical expertise across installations, upgrades, monitoring, security, and performance tuning. Key Responsibilities SAP System Administration Perform SAP installations, upgrades, migrations (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, SRM, PI/PO, etc.). Manage system availability, performance, and root-cause troubleshooting. Execute daily monitoring, log analysis, and system health checks. Database & OS Management Work with HANA, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or Sybase databases. Manage OS activities on Windows, Linux, or Unix. Perform regular backup and restore operations. User & Security Administration Handle user management, roles, and authorizations. Ensure compliance with security standards and audit requirements. Transport Management Configure and administer SAP Transport Management System (TMS). Ensure smooth movement of transports across all environments. Performance Optimization Analyze system performance bottlenecks and implement tuning recommendations. Resolve performance issues across SAP and database layers.
