About Taurean Surgical We build affordable, AI-enabled surgical visualization and data platforms (CELEST console, surgical exoscope, and a secure SaaS for capture, streaming, analytics) to democratize precision surgery across India and emerging markets. Title: People & HR Manager Location: Hyderabad (preferred) — hybrid/flexible Reports to: CEO/COO Role overview You’ll own the People function end-to-end: workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, performance, culture, payroll/compliance, and L&D. You’ll partner with engineering, product, clinical, and manufacturing leaders to scale a high-trust, high-velocity team across labs, hospitals, and remote contributors. What you will own Workforce planning & hiring Build annual/quarterly hiring plans with founders; drive full-cycle recruitment for hardware, software, clinical, sales. Stand up repeatable pipelines: campus programs, referrals, hack-days, KOL/clinician network sourcing; manage vendors/ATS. Onboarding & employer brand 30-60-90 onboarding playbooks; role scorecards; culture deck; candidate/employee NPS. Careers site, JD library, social presence, and university partnerships. Performance & compensation Set up OKR cascades and quarterly reviews; calibrations and PIP (performance improvement plans). Market benchmarking, salary structures, job leveling, variable pay, ESOP admin & grants with finance/legal. People operations HRIS ownership (attendance, leaves, letters), policy handbook, travel/expense, asset lifecycle. Run engagement cadence: all-hands, townhalls, 1:1s, recognition programs. Payroll & compliance (India) Payroll runs, CTC structuring, F&F; EPF/ESIC/PT/TDS coordination with finance. POSH IC constitution & trainings, Shops & Establishments compliances, contract workforce oversight, vendor audits. Culture, wellbeing & safety DEI-aware practices, grievance redressal, wellbeing initiatives; coordinate EHS/OR conduct with clinical leadership. Learning & development Skills matrices, role-based curricula, manager training, buddy/mentor programs. Risk & documentation Offer letters, NDAs, IP/Confidentiality, consultant/MSA templates; maintain auditable records for investors and regulators. Must-have qualifications Experience in HR/People Ops with at least 2 years in a start-up or fast-scaling tech/MedTech environment. Demonstrated ownership of recruiting, performance, payroll/compliance in India, and policy design. Strong command of Indian labor law (EPF/ESIC/PT, Shops & Establishments, POSH) and contractor/vendor management. Data-driven, excellent written/verbal communication, high integrity; comfortable working directly with founders. Nice-to-haves Experience hiring for hardware manufacturing, field clinical teams, or regulated product orgs. ESOP administration, compensation benchmarking, and campus program design. HR certifications (SHRM-CP/SC, HRCI, POSH trainer) or exposure to global mobility.
