Job Title : Database Administrator Location : Remote (India-based) Experience Required : 5+ years Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team and take ownership of our database infrastructure and reporting systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and optimizing dedicated reporting systems, implementing partitioning strategies, and improving overall database performance to support our growing application needs. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain dedicated reporting systems using SQL-based solutions Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and partitioning implementations Reduce reporting load on production systems and significantly improve reporting performance Manage database migrations and work with various database engines Monitor database health, performance metrics, and implement proactive maintenance procedures Collaborate with development teams to optimize application database interactions Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices Required Qualifications 4+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL and advanced SQL development Query optimization and profiling expertise - proven ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Database engine experience - working knowledge of different database engines and migration tools AWS RDS experience - managing cloud-based database instances and configurations Strong understanding of database partitioning strategies and implementation Experience building and maintaining reporting systems Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with Sequelize or other ORMs in NodeJS environments Knowledge of NoSQL databases including MongoDB and AWS DocumentDB Amazon Redshift or other data warehousing/reporting tools experience Aurora DB experience including clustering and high-availability configurations Experience with database monitoring and alerting tools Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code
