Identify potential risks to the cable infrastructure such as physical damage, rodent interference, or environmental wear. 2. Fault Identification and Diagnostics: Proficient in diagnostic tools such as: OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) to pinpoint faults and measure fiber continuity. Power Meters and Light Sources for signal strength analysis. Locate faults such as fiber cuts, bending losses, or connector defects, and assess their impact on network performance. 3. Fiber Splicing and Termination: Knowledge of fusion splicing for check proper cable termination using connectors like SC, LC, ST, or FC at patch panels and closures and ensure minimal insertion loss and optimal signal strength through high-quality splicing and termination. 4. Cable Route Maintenance: Maintain Right of Way (ROW) for underground cables, ensuring they are not obstructed or damaged by construction activities or environmental conditions. Inspect aerial cables for sagging, loose hardware, or potential interference. Implement protective measures for cables in high-risk areas. 5. Emergency Response and Repairs: Respond promptly to network outages, service interruptions, or emergency fault conditions. Quickly mobilize tools, equipment, and resources to restore service, adhering to established response time metrics. Collaborate with team members to perform fiber restoration efficiently. 6. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
