Role & responsibilities Head of Plant and Machinery Key Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning, Implementation and Control: • Develop a Plant & Machinery deployment plan for project based on individual project requirements considering all operation and technical aspects and ensure timely deployment. • Optimize equipment utilization to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency. • Establish controls for monitoring and managing the plan. 2. Safety Compliance: • Ensure all machinery operations adhere to safety standards and regulations. • Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize workplace accidents. 3. Maintenance Coordination: • Plan and coordinate regular maintenance schedules for machinery to prevent breakdowns and downtime. Ensuring critical repair activities on the projects and ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues. 4. Operational Efficiency: • Monitor and analyze machinery performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Implement measures to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. 5. Budgeting and Procurement: • Develop and manage budgets for the machinery department. • Coordinate with procurement teams to acquire new equipment and negotiate favorable contracts. 6. Team Management (Organization level and Project Level): • Develop, lead, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, drivers, and operators. Provide training and guidance to ensure a skilled and competent workforce. 7. Regulatory Compliance: • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure adherence and coordinate with authorities for inspections and approvals. 8. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate records of machinery inventory, maintenance activities, and performance data and report to management for review, highlighting key metrics and improvements. 9. Risk Management: • Identify and assess potential risks associated with machinery operations. • Implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard personnel and equipment. 10. Continuous Improvement: • Develop a culture of continuous improvement within the machinery department. • Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights from operators and technicians.
