Business Development Specialist (Seeds/Agronomy/PGR)
The ideal candidate is a motivated, organized, and creative individual who welcomes the challenges of acquiring and developing new business through sales efforts. You will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and close business deals while maintaining an extensive knowledge of current market conditions. Responsibilities Cultivate strong business relationships with key decision makers Proactively identify new opportunities and deliver innovative solutions to customers Develop market strategies by researching lists of high potential prospects Job Title: Business Development Specialist – Seeds, PGS & Agri Produce Location: [Gandhinagar-Gujarat] Reporting To: Business Head/ Director – Agri Business Experience Required: 3–7 years in agriculture input sales, seed marketing, FPO engagement, or rural business development Key Responsibilities: Sales & Marketing Plan and execute sales strategies for seeds , PGR-inputs, and agri-produce (fruits, grains, spices, etc.)Agronomy Services. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for both retail and bulk buyers Identify and appoint channel partners, distributors, and dealers across regions Coordinate product demos, farmer meetings, and village-level campaigns Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Regularly interact with farmers, SHGs, FPOs, cooperatives, and agri-preneurs Conduct needs assessment and provide agronomic and product knowledge support Maintain and grow relationships with institutional buyers, processors, exporters, and traders Dealer & Network Management Identify, onboard, and manage a strong network of dealers and retail points Ensure timely stock availability, product placement, and branding at retail points Resolve dealer issues and maintain strong after-sales engagement Cluster & Market Development Support the creation and strengthening of farmer clusters/FPOs
