Robotics Engineer - Locomotion india 0 years None Not disclosed Remote Full Time

About Summon Summon is building France’s next-generation humanoid robots. Our mission is to design and manufacture humanoids that are cost-competitive, reliable, and capable of addressing real labor shortages. We drive the end-to-end development of humanoid hardware and software, from core mechanical design to advanced locomotion, perception, teleoperation, and automation systems. Role - Robotics Engineer / Intern (Locomotion) We are seeking a Robotics Engineer with strong Isaac Sim and hardware-software deployment expertise to design, implement, and test locomotion strategies for humanoid and wheeled bipeds platforms. You will play a central role in enabling stable, robust, and efficient movement; both in simulation and on physical prototypes. Responsibilities Develop locomotion strategies for humanoid and wheeled humanoid robots. Specialize in one of two tracks: Control systems & optimal control methods, or Reinforcement learning approaches in Isaac Sim, with a focus on closing the sim-to-real gap. Build and refine algorithms for balance, gait generation, and stability control. Update reinforcement learning with real world feedback and tests Develop simulation pipelines and validate results on humanoid prototypes. Collaborate with the mechanical and electronics team to integrate locomotion into the full humanoid system. Requirements Strong foundation in either of: control theory, optimal control, or reinforcement learning. Hands-on experience with Isaac Sim and Python. Familiarity with robotics simulation tools, physics engines, or related frameworks. (Preferred) Ability to transfer algorithms from simulation to real hardware (reduce sim2real gap) (Preferred) Experience with humanoid locomotion, bipedal walking, or balance control. What We Offer Work on the core development of humanoid robots in France. Join a small, high-performance team building real hardware from the ground up. Flexible setup: remote-first, with access to our Paris workshop. Exposure to a growing network of industrial and academic partners. Competitive compensation (salary or internship stipend depending on profile).
