Backend-First Full-Stack AI Developer (Architect + Builder) About the Role Stride27 is building a marketplace platform — a system of rules, workflows, and automation, not just a website. We are looking for a backend-first engineer who codes, but more importantly thinks like a system architect. Frontend is part of the work, but backend architecture and system design come first. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership, clarity, and building systems from zero. Your Mission • Design the core backend architecture • Build the MVP end-to-end, starting from data models and APIs • Make smart trade-offs between speed, cost, and scalability • Ensure security, data fairness, and system reliability from day one Key Responsibilities Architecture & Backend System Design (Primary) • Design database models for marketplace logic (users, rules, commissions, workflows) • Define API contracts, service boundaries, and backend structure • Make pragmatic architectural decisions (avoid over-engineering) • Design backend workflows that can support AI components safely • Ensure AI/LLM components are isolated, auditable, and secure Backend-Led Development (Primary) • Build backend services using Python • Develop and expose REST APIs • Implement authentication, authorization, and basic security patterns • Integrate AI / LLM workflows where applicable • Deploy and manage backend services on cloud infrastructure Frontend Integration (Secondary) • Build or integrate basic frontend views using React • Focus on functionality and clarity, not UI polish • Work with frontend as a consumer of backend APIs (not UI-first development) Required Skills • Strong backend-first engineering mindset • Backend: Python (core requirement) • Solid understanding of system design and data modeling • Comfortable owning a system end-to-end • Experience deploying applications to AWS / GCP / Azure • Frontend: Basic to intermediate React (not UI-specialist) Strong Plus • Experience with AI / ML / LLM systems • Experience building marketplace or rule-based systems • Familiarity with Node.js • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code Role Details • Type: Contract • Work Mode: Remote • Experience Level: Beginner to early-mid level with strong learning curiosity • Start: ASAP • Duration: Initial 30-day Proof of Concept • Compensation: Market-aligned How to Apply Send your CV and GitHub / Portfolio to: contact@stride27.com
