Job Description

Job Title: Stenographer

Department: Legal Support
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Take dictations in shorthand with speed and accuracy and transcribe them efficiently into legal drafts and documents.
  • Prepare pleadings, petitions, appeals, SLPs, writs, and other legal documentation as dictated by advocates.
  • Maintain and type case briefs, notes, and correspondence with high confidentiality.
  • Ensure formatting and correctness of legal drafts before filing.
  • Manage case-related files, documents, and e-filing support as required.
  • Coordinate with advocates, clerks, and juniors for smooth documentation flow.
  • Maintain a record of dictated drafts, revisions, and final submissions.
  • Handle urgent dictations and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements & Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Stenographer / Personal Assistant / Legal Typist.
  • Shorthand speed of at least 80–100 wpm and typing speed of 50–60 wpm.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and legal formatting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
