Company Description The State Public Health Laboratory (SPHL) Assam is one of the oldest state food laboratories in India, established during the pre-independence period. SPHL Assam caters to the needs of not only Assam but also almost the entire North-East India. The head of the laboratory, the Food Analyst to the Government of Assam, also serves as the Food Analyst to the Governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Sikkim. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Microbiologist at the State Public Health Laboratory, Assam, located in Kolkata. The Assistant Microbiologist will be responsible for performing microbiological tests, ensuring quality control, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and following quality assurance protocols. Daily tasks will involve sample analysis, data recording, and maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment. Qualifications Proficiency in Laboratory Skills and Microbiology Experience with Quality Control and Quality Assurance protocols Ability to operate and maintain Laboratory Equipment Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field Previous experience in a public health laboratory is a plus
