Alternatively, a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience or a PhD with 4+ years of experience in the field is also acceptable. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., is required. Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields, along with 12+ years of Software Engineering experience. Experience with Database Management Software, API, technical leadership roles, and familiarity with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management Systems are also highly valued. The primary duties and responsibilities of this role involve utilizing advanced software knowledge and experience to design and develop critical embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and utility programs. This includes analyzing user needs, software requirements, and constraints to customize sophisticated software for optimal operational efficiency. Leading design, coding, and testing efforts, as well as performing code reviews and regression tests, are also key responsibilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and writing detailed technical documentation are necessary for successful project completion. As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will work independently with minimal supervision, provide guidance to team members, and make critical decisions that have a high impact on program success. Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and problem-solving skills are essential in this role.
