As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, your role will involve designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs. Collaboration with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams is essential to design system-level software solutions and gather information on performance requirements and interfaces. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field along with 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience or a PhD with 4+ years of experience in the field is also acceptable. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., is required. Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields, along with 12+ years of Software Engineering experience. Experience with Database Management Software, API, technical leadership roles, and familiarity with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management Systems are also highly valued. The primary duties and responsibilities of this role involve utilizing advanced software knowledge and experience to design and develop critical embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and utility programs. This includes analyzing user needs, software requirements, and constraints to customize sophisticated software for optimal operational efficiency. Leading design, coding, and testing efforts, as well as performing code reviews and regression tests, are also key responsibilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and writing detailed technical documentation are necessary for successful project completion.
