1. Role Purpose
To lead end-to-end electrical tendering and estimation for data center projects, with strong expertise in engineering calculations, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, technical evaluation and detailed cost estimation. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical design fundamentals, power distribution systems and data center infrastructure to develop accurate, competitive and commercially viable bids.
2. Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Bid Management:
Manage the complete electrical tendering process, including tender document review, scope assessment, technical clarifications, bid preparation and timely submission.Electrical Estimation & Costing:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical packages, covering equipment, materials, installation, manpower, subcontracting, testing, commissioning, overheads and project margins.Quantity Take-Off & BOQ Preparation:
Independently calculate quantities from electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, cable schedules and technical specifications; prepare and validate detailed BOQs.Electrical Design & Engineering Calculations:
Apply strong electrical engineering fundamentals to validate load calculations, cable sizing, transformer and DG capacities, UPS sizing, voltage drop, fault levels and other relevant design parameters.Power Distribution Systems:
Estimate and evaluate HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, UPS and battery systems, busducts, electrical panels, switchgear, cabling, earthing, lightning protection and lighting systems.Drawing & Specification Review:
Review SLDs, electrical layouts, schematics, equipment schedules and tender specifications to identify scope gaps, design discrepancies, quantity variations and technical risks.Rate Analysis & Cost Benchmarking:
Prepare item-wise rate analysis, validate material and installation costs, benchmark market rates and identify cost-saving opportunities.Vendor & Subcontractor Evaluation:
Obtain and evaluate quotations from OEMs, vendors and subcontractors; prepare techno-commercial comparison statements and negotiate competitive rates.Technical & Commercial Bid Preparation:
Develop BOQs, cost summaries, pricing schedules, technical submissions, commercial proposals, assumptions, exclusions and tender clarifications.Value Engineering & Risk Assessment:
Identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining electrical system reliability, redundancy, quality and compliance with project specifications.Cross-Functional Coordination:
Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, projects and commercial teams to validate quantities, technical assumptions, installation methodology and project costs.Tender Handover:
Prepare a comprehensive handover of finalized estimates, BOQs, vendor quotations, scope assumptions and cost breakdowns to the project execution team after order finalization.
