Sr. Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance for our e-commerce business. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of e-commerce transactions, marketplace settlements, payment gateway reconciliations, inventory accounting, GST compliance, and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and general accounting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure accurate recording of revenue, expenses, provisions, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely closure of books of accounts.

2. E-commerce Accounting & Reconciliation

• Reconcile sales, returns, refunds, discounts, commissions, and settlements across online marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, and the company's D2C website.
• Reconcile payment gateways, including Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, and other payment service providers.
• Track marketplace receivables, deductions, penalties, commissions, and settlement differences.
• Reconcile COD (Cash on Delivery) collections with logistics partners and bank deposits.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in sales settlements, refunds, and payment collections.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition across marketplaces and sales channels.

3. Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Reconcile inventory records with warehouse and accounting data.
• Monitor inventory movements, stock transfers, returns, damaged goods, and write-offs.
• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for physical stock verification.
• Assist in calculating product costs, gross margins, and channel-wise profitability.
• Identify inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.

4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely preparation and filing support for GST returns, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
• Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase registers and input tax credit records.
• Verify sales and purchase invoices for GST compliance.
• Support TDS calculations, payments, returns, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with external consultants and auditors for statutory audits, tax audits, and assessments.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax and statutory compliance.

5. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Manage vendor invoices, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations.
• Monitor customer receivables, marketplace balances, and overdue settlements.
• Verify expense claims, purchase invoices, and supporting documents.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments in accordance with company policies.

6. MIS & Business Support

• Prepare monthly MIS reports covering sales, expenses, gross margins, and profitability.
• Provide channel-wise and product-wise financial analysis.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Analyze financial variances and highlight key issues to management.
• Support internal controls, process improvements, and audit requirements.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹58,000.00 per month
