Special Education Teacher

Special education teachers are responsible for providing specialized education and support to students with a wide range of disabilities or learning differences. These responsibilities are often tailored to the individual needs of each student and include:

Location : Mugalivakkam, Chennai .The role is open for both full time and par time candidates.

Educational qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) with a specialization in Special Education is often preferred. Some states may also accept a Bachelor's degree in education or a content area with a minor in special education. Various institutions offer diploma courses in special education, which focus on different types of disabilities.

Evaluating students' skills, learning needs, and behavioral patterns to determine their educational requirements.

Collaborating with parents, general education teachers, and other professionals to create and implement IEPs outlining specific learning goals and accommodations for each student.

Modifying the general education curriculum and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Providing one-on-one or small group instruction, using assistive technology and adaptive tools to enhance student engagement and learning.

Tracking and reflecting on student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure students are meeting their IEP goals.

Implementing positive reinforcement and evidence-based interventions to manage classroom behavior and promote emotional regulation.

Working closely with general education teachers, parents, school administrators, counselors, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists to create holistic intervention plans and ensure students' needs are met.

Serving as an advocate for students' rights and ensuring they receive the appropriate accommodations and support.

Regularly communicating with parents and caregivers about student performance, progress, and potential problems.
