Job Description Cashier Summary of Responsibilities: We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. Greet customers in a friendly manner and assist them with any inquiries. Operate cash registers, scanners, and POS/PetPooja systems efficiently. ¢ Handle cash, credit or debit card transactions, and provide accurate change. ¢ Maintain accurate records of all transactions. ¢ Bag, box, or gift-wrap merchandise, as needed. ¢ Count Cash in the drawer at the beginning and end of the shift to ensure accuracy. ¢ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area. ¢ Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or discounts. ¢ Respond to customer complaints or direct them to the appropriate manager. ¢ Assist with stocking shelves or inventory as needed. Key Areas of Responsibilities: Transaction Handling Process sales transactions quickly and accurately using POS & PetPooja systems. Handle cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments. Issue receipts, refunds, and change with accuracy. Customer Service Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner. Answer customer questions regarding products, promotions, or services. Address and resolve basic customer concerns or escalate as necessary. Cash Management Maintain and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts. Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed securely and accurately. Store Operations Support Assist with restocking shelves and organizing merchandise. Maintain cleanliness and order in the cashier station and front-of-house area. Monitor and report low stock or damaged items to supervisors. Compliance & Policy Adherence Follow company policies regarding transactions, pricing, and security. Adhere to hygiene, safety, and loss prevention standards. Reporting & Record Keeping Accurately record daily transactions and submit reports if required. Assist in preparing reports for audits or end-of-day reconciliation.
