Job Title: SolidWorks Design Engineer (Application Engineer) Department: Design & Development Location: Loni, Ghaziabad Company: PreetGroup.com Heavy Engineering & Fabrication Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Design Engineer with hands-on expertise in SolidWorks to join our Mechanical Design Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for converting 2D drawings into 3D models, designing mechanical components and assemblies, and contributing to the development of customized machinery, precision parts, and steel structures. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks for mechanical components, welded assemblies, and machined parts. Interpret and convert legacy 2D drawings into accurate 3D models for design updates and modernization. Design and optimize components used in fabrication, CNC machining, tooling, casting, and welded steel structures . Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability. Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection based on application and load conditions. Create Bills of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and technical documentation. Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, safety norms, and internal quality protocols. Engage in design reviews and implement feedback for continuous improvement. Key Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in SolidWorks (including part modeling, surface modeling, assemblies, sheet metal, and drawing tools). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation . Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes – including fabrication, CNC machining, casting, and welding techniques. Understanding of material properties, structural integrity, and tolerance stack-up . Capability to develop innovative design solutions and optimize existing designs. Working knowledge of MS Office , PDM/PLM systems is a plus. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 3–6 years of experience in SolidWorks-based mechanical design, preferably in heavy fabrication or machinery manufacturing industry. Prior exposure to steel fabrication , precision mechanical assemblies , and custom machine design is highly preferred. Preferred Background: Candidates with experience in EOT cranes , heavy-duty assemblies, or from industries similar to PreetGroup (e.g., heavy engineering, material handling, and steel fabrication) will be given preference.
