Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Software Tester / QA Engineer to validate an integrated Surveillance & Command System involving real-time EO/IR video feeds, AI-based detection overlays, geospatial maps, alerts, and operator workflows.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in functional, regression, negative, exploratory, and performance/soak testing of complex web and backend applications. Experience with video streaming, AI/ML products, real-time systems, or multi-sensor platforms will be highly preferred.
You will be responsible for identifying critical issues before deployment, validating end-to-end system behavior, and ensuring product reliability under realistic operational conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute release test plans across edge agents, central backend systems, and operator-facing web applications.
- Validate multi-feed EO/IR video, synchronization, AI overlays, confidence thresholds, object tracking, and playback/replay functionality.
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, negative, and soak testing.
- Validate REST APIs and React-based operator interfaces, including live video, maps, alerts, reports, settings, and authentication.
- Test failure scenarios such as UDP packet loss, delayed camera connections, WebRTC reconnections, GPU overload, and AI engine failures.
- Maintain golden video clips and scenario-based test suites for validating model and sensor-fusion changes.
- Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, logs, screenshots, and video evidence.
- Perform regression testing after software, AI model, configuration, and engine updates.
- Coordinate with developers, system engineers, and operators during integration and acceptance testing.
- Prepare test reports and evidence packages to support certification and release readiness.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance for complex web and backend applications.
- Strong understanding of manual testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, and test case design.
- Experience in REST API testing using Postman or Insomnia.
- Experience testing React-based web applications and browser-based operator interfaces.
- Exposure to real-time video streaming, AI/ML applications, video analytics, or multi-sensor systems.
- Understanding of video synchronization, detection overlays, object classification, tracking behavior, and confidence thresholds.
- Experience designing regression scenarios and maintaining test suites for frequently changing applications.
- Knowledge of negative testing, network failure simulation, and long-duration soak testing.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Git, browser DevTools, test management tools, and screen/video capture utilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across browsers, desktop GPUs, edge devices, and different network environments.
Good to Have
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or Vitest.
- Exposure to NVIDIA Jetson or other edge computing platforms.
- Experience with WebRTC, UDP, RTSP, or other video streaming technologies.
- Understanding of geospatial interfaces, map-based applications, and location-based alerts.
- Experience in defence, surveillance, command-and-control, or mission-critical software products.
- ISTQB certification is an added advantage but not mandatory.
