As a Software Developer with focus on software packaging and deployment, you will build and maintain software deployment solutions for our aspenONE software and push the deployment technology to make it easier for our customers to adopt our latest technologies. Based in our Pune, India office you will collaborate closely with other members of geographically dispersed Products teams, coordinating closely with colleagues focused on delighting customers via delivering robust products.

Your Impact

We are seeking an Installation Developer with 1–2 years of professional software development experience to develop, test, and maintain software installation and deployment solutions across Windows and Linux environments.

The ideal candidate will have good programming fundamentals, an understanding of software installation and deployment technologies, and a willingness to learn and grow in modern software engineering practices. The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, QA, DevOps, and other team members in an Agile development environment.

The successful candidate should also be able to leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, learning, and documentation efficiency, while understanding and validating AI-generated solutions before incorporating them into production software.

• Develop, test, and maintain software installation packages and deployment solutions for Windows and Linux platforms.
• Utilize Windows Installer, InstallShield, and related technologies to develop reliable and maintainable installation solutions.
• Develop and maintain installation scripts and automation using C#, PowerShell, Bash, C++, and other appropriate technologies.
• Apply established software development and coding practices to produce reliable, maintainable, and testable solutions.
• Develop and execute tests to verify installation, upgrade, configuration, and deployment functionality.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity in coding, scripting, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, learning, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and other team members to understand installation and deployment requirements and implement appropriate solutions.
• Integrate installation and deployment processes with version control systems, such as Git and Perforce, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve installation and deployment issues with guidance from senior team members as needed.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities to continuously improve technical skills.
• Follow Agile development practices and established software engineering standards to deliver high-quality solutions in a timely manner.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies, automation techniques, and AI-assisted development practices to improve development efficiency and software quality.

What You'll Need

• 1–2 years of professional software development experience, preferably with exposure to software installation, deployment, build, or related technologies.
• Good programming fundamentals and experience developing maintainable and testable software.
• Experience with one or more relevant programming or scripting languages, such as C#, C++, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Good understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and fundamental software installation and configuration concepts.
• Experience with or knowledge of Windows Installer, InstallShield, or similar software installation and packaging technologies.
• Good understanding of fundamental software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance.
• Understanding of software installation and deployment processes and practices.
• Experience with or willingness to effectively adopt AI-assisted software development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, learning, documentation, and overall development efficiency.
• Ability to review, understand, and validate AI-generated code and recommendations rather than relying on generated solutions without appropriate technical review.
• Familiarity with container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git or Perforce.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
• Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with a willingness to learn from and contribute to the development team.
