We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and trend-aware Social Media Marketing Intern who is passionate about social media, content creation, digital trends and storytelling.

Role Overview

As a Social Media Marketing Intern, you will work closely with the creative and digital marketing teams to plan, create, manage and execute social media strategies.

You will be responsible for supporting the company's social media presence, developing engaging content ideas, researching trends and helping improve brand awareness and audience engagement across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Management

- Manage and maintain the company's social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

- Plan and schedule social media posts according to the content calendar.

- Ensure consistency in brand communication, tone and visual identity.

- Monitor comments, messages and audience interactions.

- Assist in maintaining an active and engaging social media presence.

2. Content Planning & Strategy

- Research trending topics, industry updates, hashtags and viral content formats.

- Develop creative content ideas for reels, carousels, stories and static posts.

- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly content calendars.

- Understand target audiences and suggest relevant content strategies.

- Create content around branding, digital marketing, advertising, business growth and industry insights.

3. Content Creation & Coordination

- Assist in creating engaging social media content.

- Write creative captions, hooks, headlines and post descriptions.

- Coordinate with graphic designers and video editors for content execution.

- Help create reels, short-form videos, stories and interactive posts.

- Ensure all content follows the company's brand guidelines.

4. Trend Research & Competitor Analysis

- Identify trending reels, audio, formats and social media campaigns.

- Research competitors and analyse their social media strategies.

- Track industry trends and emerging digital marketing practices.

- Suggest creative ideas to improve content performance and engagement.

5. Performance Tracking & Reporting

- Monitor social media performance and engagement.

- Track reach, impressions, profile visits, followers and engagement rates.

- Analyse the performance of reels, posts and stories.

- Prepare weekly and monthly social media performance reports.

- Suggest improvements based on content performance and audience behaviour.

6. Creative Thinking & Campaign Support

- Participate in brainstorming sessions for social media campaigns.

- Assist in executing brand awareness and promotional campaigns.

- Suggest innovative content ideas for company initiatives.

- Support the team in creating engaging and relevant digital campaigns.

Skills & Requirements

- Strong interest in social media and digital marketing.

- Good written communication and creative writing skills.

- Understanding of Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

- Knowledge of trending reels, content formats and social media trends.

- Basic knowledge of Canva is preferred.

- Basic understanding of content creation, hashtags and social media algorithms.

- Creative thinking and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- Willingness to learn and experiment with new content ideas.

Preferred Qualifications

- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Advertising, Journalism or a related field.

- Basic knowledge of Canva, CapCut or other content creation tools.

- A personal Instagram page, content portfolio or previous social media work is an added advantage.

- Prior internship experience is preferred but not mandatory.
