Cutting Tool Management – Key Skills & ResponsibilitiesCutting Tool Inventory Management – Maintain tool stock, monitor consumption, and ensure availability. Tool Issuance & Return – Issue tools to operators, track returns, and keep proper records. Tool Life Monitoring – Inspect cutting tools, check tool wear, and identify regrinding or replacement needs. Tool Regrinding & Repair Knowledge – Coordinate tool regrinding/resharpening and maintain tool performance. Documentation & Record Keeping – Maintain daily tool consumption reports in Excel/ERP. Knowledge of Cutting Tools – Familiar with turning inserts, milling cutters, drills, taps, reamers, tool holders, and their applications. Coordination with Production & Purchase – Communicate with production teams for tool requirements and inform purchase about shortages. Tool Cost & Usage Optimization – Ensure maximum tool life, reduce wastage, and control tool costs. 5S & Safety Compliance – Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool crib/work area. Basic Technical Knowledge – Understand machining processes and how different tools are applied.
1. CNC / VMC Programmer & OperatorResponsibilities: Develop and upload CNC/VMC programs as per drawing and process requirements. Perform tool selection, offset setting, and fixture setup. Ensure first part approval and verify machining accuracy. Monitor production process and maintain dimensional accuracy. Carry out routine machine maintenance and follow safety standards. 2. CMM Programmer / CMM In-ChargeResponsibilities: Create and optimize CMM inspection programs as per drawing and GD&T. Conduct 3D measurement and verification of machined components. Prepare inspection reports and share results with QA/customer teams. Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of CMM equipment. Support production and quality teams with dimensional analysis. 3. PDI (Pre-Dispatch Inspection) InspectorResponsibilities: Perform 100% inspection of finished components before dispatch. Carry out visual, dimensional, and functional checks. Report any rejection or deviation to the Quality team immediately. Prepare and maintain PDI reports for customer approval. Ensure product clearance before packing and marking.
