Production Engineer - Food Packaging
Job Title: Process Analyst Location: Rudrapur, Uttarakhand (Onsite - Food Processing Manufacturing Facility) Joining: Immediate Job Summary: The Process Analyst will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, analysing process data, and supporting operational excellence on the shopfloor. This role involves monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions. The ideal candidate will have a sound background in data analysis, process optimization, and problem-solving methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, specifically within the food processing industry, including biscuits and confectionery manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: Monitor overall production activities on the shopfloor and provide data-driven insights to improve efficiency and reduce waste in biscuit and confectionery manufacturing. Analyze production schedules and machine utilization data to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies. Develop and track plant KPIs, providing actionable insights to improve operational performance. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects, downtime, and process abnormalities, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and spares availability is optimized. Monitor and analyze material consumption variance, machine breakdown patterns, and changeover efficiency. Ensure compliance with industry health and safety guidelines and maintain hygiene standards on the shopfloor, ensuring zero spillage. Support consumer complaint tracking related to packaging and coordinate with Quality and Production teams for resolution. Conduct training sessions for line-in charges, supervisors, and other staff on process improvements, problem-solving tools, and data-driven decision-making. Work closely with the manufacturing team, ensuring prompt communication and collaboration for process improvements. Follow up with the concerned team for pending actions discussed in meetings to ensure timely execution. Utilize data visualization and reporting tools to present findings and drive decision-making. Build strong relationships with shopfloor teams and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 1 - 3 years of experience in manufacturing, process improvement, or business analysis, preferably in the food processing industry (biscuits & confectionery). Understanding of Lean Six Sigma, 7QC tools, and other problem-solving methodologies will be advantageous. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and other reporting tools. Basic Problem-solving skills with the ability to support initiative. Experience in FMCG, food processing, or manufacturing industries will be a plus. Preferred Qualifications (Will be added advantage) Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/ Yellow belt certification. Hands-on experience in shopfloor data collection and real-time analytics. Ability to conduct training sessions and mentor teams in process improvement techniques.
