Senior Test Automation Engineer / SDET

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer / SDET with strong hands-on experience in Playwright, TypeScript, API, Database, and integration testing. The role involves developing and maintaining end-to-end automation for a transit ticketing and payment platform, covering UI, APIs, databases, messaging, backend services, and connected devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert functional/manual test cases into robust automated tests.
• Develop and maintain automation using Playwright + TypeScript.
• Automate and validate UI, REST APIs, databases, MQTT, and end-to-end workflows.
• Validate business outcomes across applications, APIs, databases, messages, files, and logs.
• Build reusable page objects, API clients, database utilities, fixtures, and automation workflows.
• Implement reliable test setup, cleanup, synchronization, and recovery.
• Execute and troubleshoot automation through CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze failures and distinguish product, automation, environment, and data issues.
• Maintain automation reporting using Playwright, Allure, and TestRail.
• Collaborate with QA, development, DevOps, and domain teams.

Required Skills

• 4+ years in Test Automation / SDET.
• Strong Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript experience.
• Strong API testing and SQL skills.
• Experience with MQTT / asynchronous systems.
• Experience with integration and end-to-end testing.
• Experience developing reusable automation frameworks.
• Strong Git and CI/CD experience.
• Good debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Good to Have

• Transit / transportation / payment domain experience.
• EMV/contactless payment knowledge.
• Experience with readers, gates, validators, or connected devices.
• SQL Server / Oracle.
• SSH, PowerShell, S3.
• Jenkins / Azure DevOps.
• Allure / TestRail.
