Senior Technical Business Analyst

Your Role:

We're looking for two experienced Senior Technical Business Analysts to join our Product function, playing a critical role in translating product needs into clear, technically robust requirements for our complex payments platform.

This is an opportunity for experienced payments specialists to make a tangible impact on both our products and how we deliver them. You'll focus on our payment orchestration platform, bringing clarity to complex transaction flows, integrations and business rules so our teams can build with confidence.

These are senior, hands-on roles. You'll have the autonomy to take ownership of complex requirements with minimal supervision, working closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Architecture and QA.

Responsibilities:

• Turn product needs into clear, robust requirements
• Independently elicit, challenge, analyse and refine complex business and technical requirements.
• Identify gaps and ambiguities before development begins.
• Produce clear, comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, processing logic, data mappings, exception scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Define requirements across transaction processing, including authorisation, capture, settlement, refunds and routing.

Understand the platform, its APIs and data

• Work with API-driven platforms, system integrations, transaction flows and technical dependencies, engaging confidently with Engineers and Architects.
• Interpret API specifications, data models, request/response structures and integration requirements.
• Extract, clean, validate and analyse large datasets.
• Assess end-to-end impacts, identify dependencies, anticipate edge cases and understand how changes affect the wider payments platform.

Drive requirements through to delivery

• Work independently across Product, Engineering, Architecture and QA, facilitating technical discussions, challenging assumptions and driving requirements to resolution.
• Support product development through discovery, backlog refinement, development and testing.
• Ensure requirements are understood, validated and ready for delivery.

Experience:

We're looking for people who combine deep payments knowledge, strong analytical rigour and the confidence to take ownership of complex problems.

• Proven experience working within a PSP, payment gateway, acquirer or similar payments technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of transaction processing, authorisation, capture, settlement, refunds and routing.
• A strong understanding of API-driven platforms, system integrations, transaction flows and technical dependencies.
• Extensive experience independently eliciting, challenging, analysing and refining complex business and technical requirements.
• The ability to produce clear, comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, processing logic, data mappings, exception scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Comfort interpreting API specifications, data models, request/response structures and integration requirements.
• Strong capability to extract, clean, validate and analyse large datasets.
• A systems-thinking approach, with the ability to assess end-to-end impacts, identify dependencies and anticipate edge cases.
• The confidence to work independently across Product, Engineering, Architecture and QA, facilitating technical discussions and challenging assumptions.
• Strong Agile delivery experience across discovery, backlog refinement, development and testing.
